OUR NOVEMBER MEEING WILL NOT OCCUR ON THE USUAL DATE. IT WILL BE ON THE SECOND
THURSDAY IN NOVEMBER, THURSDAY THE 12TH, 7:00pm at the Clubhouse. This is due to East Hartford
facilities being closed for Veterans Day on the previous day. Our thanks go out to all of our nation’s
veterans.
For well over 20 years Rob Nicholas has been fly fishing and guiding on our local waters as well as
internationally. Rob will be the speaker at our Thursday November 12th monthly meeting and his
colorful presentation will focus on several South American fishing destinations.
There is something new coming to the club, A FLY SWAP! The swap is designed to encourage club
members to tie and share some of their favorite flies with other club members. The swap will be limited
to twelve participants. Every tier will be required to tie thirteen flies for the swap. One for each of the
other participants and one that will be in a box at the banquet. The first fly will be a simple streamer.
Examples are a woolly bugger, Hornberg streamer, Black ghost, or a Gartside soft hackle streamer. Sign
up at the November 12th meeting. Flies are due for distribution at the December meeting.
Bob Winot will be running the fly swap. See him at the meeting to sign up and receive a copy of the rules
and a small box for the flies. The club looks forward to your participation. Future swaps could include
one for wet flies, dry flies or nymphs.
